This article is about the Transformer-collecting machines from the Generation 1 Marvel comics. For the machine that collects energy from a star in Revenge of the Fallen, see star harvester.
Harvester units are Decepticon machines from the Marvel Comics portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.
Ooooo. Nasty.

Decepticons on Cybertron under the command of Straxus had no use for any transformers that are not Decepticons. No use, that is, except for use as raw materials. The Empties in Dead End were particular targets because of their inability to put up much of a defense. Harvester units would prowl around looking for victims to throw into the smelting pool. They would often work with hunter-seeker skyships who would shoot hapless Transformers from the air then the harvester units would follow to scoop up the bodies. The Smelting Pool!

Notes

  • There appear to be at least two types of harvester units which appear in The Smelting Pool. There's a flying type and a ground-based unit.
  • The ground-based version drives on tank treads. It has arms that scoop up bodies and puts them into at least one (possibly two) openning(s) on the front of it. When disgorging the bodies it does so from the rear of the unit.
  • The ground-based unit in The Smelting Pool seems to dump its harvested bodies from a specially designed ramp on the edge of the smelting pool.
  • The flying version has jets in the back, and appears to dump bodies out of doors on the side of it.
  • There is nothing in their appearance to clarify whether harvester units are just drones or actual Decepticons in their own right.
What a fine harvest!
