Great Convoy is a Maximal during the Beast Wars Neo portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

During the era of the Beast Wars, the planet Cybertron was ruled by the Maximal Elders, a council of Generals who had achieved the rank of Hyper Convoy and were granted a Leadership Matrix. Great Convoy was at the head of the Maximal Elders and had the final say in many decisions, including ordering the psychotically anti-social Big Convoy to mould a troop of Maximal new recruits.

When Unicron was reborn, his first goal was to settle his score with Cybertron and turn it into his new body. Great Convoy lead an armada of Maximal warriors to Cybertron's defense, however, Unicron used his fiery serpent-mode to waste the entire Maximal armada. Great Convoy was killed instantly in the attack.
