Sal was ordering crane operator Ralf around the Smitco Oil Refinery when a fellow employee alerted him to helicopters dropping a crate on the site. The crate opened to reveal a group of Transformers under the control of Lazarus, who all went on to rampage in the oil refinery. Sal likely did not survive the event. Prime Directive #2
