The name or term "Reverb" refers to more than one character or idea. For a list of other meanings, see Reverb (disambiguation).
Reverb is a Decepticon from the 2007 movie franchise portion of the live-action film series continuity family.
Wait- My name was used in Accelaracers AND Battl Force 5? I look like Shockwave, for crying out loud! Not Hot Wheels material!

Whenever Reverb goes into battle, he goes with a grin on his face, singing a song that he knew back in the old days. He brings doom to many Autobots by creating a thudding sonic cyclone from the wash on his rotors, twisting metal, destroying their audio sensors, and shattering glass.

Fiction

IDW Transformers movie comics

Sent to Earth by Soundwave, Reverb (along with Gunbarrel) is one of the Decepticons working under Fracture, who was nice enough to find an alternate mode for him at an Italian military base. After scanning, the Decepticons destroyed the installation. Alliance issue 3

Reverb and Gunbarrel were eventually hunted down and destroyed by the Autobots and their human allies. Alliance issue 4

Due to space constraints, Reverb and Gunbarrel do not actually appear in Alliance issue 4, but their deaths are reported by Ironhide.

Toys

Transformers (2007)

It's not easy being green. Also, having your toy canceled out from under you.
Part of the canceled[1] fifth wave of Target exclusive Movie series Scouts along with Backtrack and Gunbarrel, Decepticon Reverb is a redeco of the Energon Stormcloud/Blackout sculpt, transforming into an assault helicopter similar to an Apache. He could also have formed an leg or arm to any Energon-series "Powerlinx Combiner" super robot — though no super robot torsos actually came out during the original live-action movie toyline, and his packaging makes no mention of the toy's ability to combine.
He includes a quintuple-barreled cannon that formed a hand or footplate for his non-advertised limb-modes, plus a Decepticon-style Energon star.
In early 2010, about two years after the first samples had surfaced, considerable quantities of the three unreleased Scouts were sold on eBay. Each of them came packaged with two instruction sheets, one in English and one in Spanish, suggesting that the batch was initially intended for the Mexican market. However, based on information from Mexican fans, the toys never actually made it to retail there.
This sculpt was also used to make the Fun Publications Transformers Collectors' Club-exclusive toy Topspin and Universe (2008) Bruticus Maximus team members Vortex and Swindle, who double as Revenge of the Fallen Vortex and Swindle.

Notes

  • Reverb's toy was first acknowledged on Hasbro's Transformers Action Figure Checklist.
  • Reverb's deco was thought by many to homage an earlier character (Deathcobra and Waspinator were popular choices), but his colors were in fact based on Universe Cloudraker, as Joe Kyde was particularly pleased by Cloudraker's colors and wanted to re-use them on something bigger.
