MediaWiki talk:A GoBox of your own!

Okay, some thoughts here. This is a really good promotional tool, but the average visitor to the wiki can't get to it very easily. It's linked to from our community portal, which we don't really use, and which isn't what "Community portal" links to in the sidebar. That's the talkpage, not the portal itself. It's also linked to by one of the GoBoxes themselves, but we've got so many of them now that it's a real crapshoot for that one to come up. So to get more users aware of this promotional tool on a wider variety of forums, I think it ought to be a bit more prominently linked, possibly on the main page.--Rosicrucian^Talk 03:15, 10 June 2009 (EDT)

I'd been thinking I'd also like to see a version of this that would allow it to be linked in places that don't allow embedding/HTML. One user put up some code that used to work great, but it seems to have gotten broken in the server move (and now the URL is down to boot). --Jeysie 12:59, 22 June 2009 (EDT)
