Hisashi Yuki
Hisashi Yuki (幸 日佐志 Yuki Hisashi) is a toy designer at TakaraTomy who joined the company in 1992, just before Generation 2 began. His first Transformers work was the Beast Wars II series, during which he was one of the only members of the Takara team developing Transformers for the Japanese market.
Of all the toys Yuki has designed, Robots in Disguise Optimus Prime holds a special place in his heart. He was responsible for coming up with the "shake hands" combination sequence between this Optimus Prime and Ultra Magnus, and even went to a series staff meeting to ask the director personally to ensure the scene would be featured in the Omega Prime combination sequence.
When he designed the Universe Sunstreaker and Sideswipe toys, he disagreed with Hasbro's concepts and instructions that both robots would be exactly the same, only differing in their heads. He came up with the simple (yet very effective) idea of turning the torso around to give the two Autobot brothers their distinctively different torso designs.
Yuki was responsible for naming the Unicron Trilogy the "Micron Trilogy" in Japan, after TakaraTomy decided that Galaxy Force (the Japanese version of the Cybertron series) was part of the Unicron Trilogy after all, as Hasbro had envisioned.
