Cobra Commander is the leader of Cobra, a ruthless terrorist organization determined to rule the world.
Urban Cowboy/Terrorist

Cobra Commander's origin varies from continuity to continuity, but one thing is certain, he really hates America. Leader of the terrorist organization known as Cobra, Cobra Commander frequently tries and fails to take over the world. No matter what maniacal scheme he comes up with, be it etching his face onto the moon with a laser or editting elementary school text books to read pro-Cobra, G.I. Joe always manages to kick the mortal Hell out of him.

By the year 2006, Cobra had been defeated and Cobra Commander, now going by the oh-so-creative alias of "Snake", was left with little to do to pass the time. A mob boss named Victor Drath hired Snake to teach him the secret of synthoid technology so that he might use it against the Autobots. Cobra Commander took the job and used the synthoid technology to craft "human" bodies for Rodimus Prime, Arcee, Springer, Kup and Ultra Magnus, trapping them inside. Eventually, the Autobots managed to return to their original Cybertronian bodies and Victor Drath and his gang were arrested.

However, Snake managed to escape. As he walked into the sunset, his departing words were "They just don't make terrorists like they used to!", followed by (most of) the Cobra battlecry, which was unfortunately cut short by a coughing fit.
