Cybertron Defense Hot Shot variant?

The Cybertron Defense Force Hot Shot I have in front of me has the panels covering the shoulder missiles swapped from the one in the picture (i.e., it's the same as the Springer release of this mold). However, I got it second-hand, and the panels are fairly easy to pull off and swap by hand, so I don't know if this is an actual manufacturing variant, or if the previous owner did it. Has anyone seen a boxed CDF Hot Shot where the panels are swapped? JW 10:58, 29 July 2010 (EDT)

Hmm, and, I note, the instructions for the toy have the panels in the same configuration as mine (tabs on the inside). JW 11:07, 29 July 2010 (EDT)
And, if you look at the panels in question, and the red machine guns on his bumper/top of shoulders, you'll see that they're lettered A for one shoulder, and B for the other. On mine, both of the left shoulder parts are A, and both right parts are B. So, on mine, either four parts were swapped (which is possible, I guess), or "tabs on the inside" is the correct assembly, and the toy in the pic on this page is a misassembled variant. (Yes, I'm still investigating this.) It seems, in the cartoon, the tabs are clearly on the outside. So, A) my toy is missasembled, and B) the instructions have it wrong. "A" is the right shoulder. JW 15:50, 29 July 2010 (EDT)

Homages

From the Cybertron toy section:

His design and transformation sequence are an homage to Volfogg from the Takara-produced Brave series, King of Braves GaoGaiGar and a partial homage to Dran from another Takara-produced series, The Brave of Gold Goldran.

...is any of that true? It sounds really Dpisode Page "references" Bullshitty to me. --ItsWalky 10:33, 4 January 2013 (EST)
