Waterlog (Armada)

Waterlog is a Mini-Con from the Unicron Trilogy continuity family.

Waterlog is the Sea Mini-Con Team's most well-rounded warrior, despite his slowness, both mentally and physically. He's an old-fashioned pirate, and not just in his speech and mannerisms. When he's not in battle, he's constantly on the search for "booty", be it energon or other resources to make the Sea Team more powerful.

Fiction

Waterlog and the Sea Mini-Con Team were captured at an unknown point by the Decepticons on Earth. They briefly accompanied Tidal Wave into battle with the Autobots as part of Thrust's plot to lure the heroes into using the Requiem Blaster. After the Decepticons determined the Blaster wasn't present, however, Tidal Wave and the Sea Team quickly pulled out from the battlefield. Sacrifice

On the moon, Waterlog and the other Mini-Cons were put to work by Megatron constructing a new space cruiser. When the Autobots lay siege to the Decepticon base, Perceptor sought out the Mini-Cons and tried to get them to accompany him to freedom. Their servility programming was too strong to overcome at first. After Waterlog and the others saw Perceptor valiantly risking his life against Megatron, however, the Mini-Cons shrugged off the chains of their oppression, and fled to the warp gate chamber where the Autobots transported them to safety on Earth. Waterlog and the Mini-Cons all chose to willingly follow the Autobots into space aboard the Axalon, fighting alongside them against the Decepticons. Depart

Waterlog transforms into a hovercraft. In both modes, he has a pressure-launch missile. He was available only as part of the Sea Mini-Con Team 3-pack with his teammates Oceanglide and Stormcloud.

The Japanese release of this team has a different color scheme. The maroon is replaced with a much more vibrant red, plus the lavender is replaced with yellow.

A redeco of the Team was released as part of the final Armada Mini-Con assortment in the US. This version is largely blue with "French gray", plus some red flame pinstriping.

This mold was also used to make Freeboot and Hover.

A limited-edition (yet still standard retail) redeco of the Sea Team was released in Japan as part of the X-Dimension Micron. The entire team was given a purple and medium-gray deco, matching up quite nicely with the Japanese version of Tidal Wave.
