Hot Spot is an Autobot Protectobot from the Generation 1 continuity family.

Hot Spot is the leader of the Autobot subgroup Protectobots and forms the head and body of the combiner named Defensor. Hot Spot transforms from robot to blue fire engine.

In the Marvel comic book continuity, Hot Spot commited suicide in order to make sure that Cybertronian technology did not fall into the hands of Cobra during the G.I. Joe / Generation 2 comic crossover.
