Not much is known about the Matrix Templars, other than that there are five of them<ref>Homecoming, Universe #3</ref> and that they have a unique physiology.<ref>The Apelinq Journals</ref> The three known Matrix Templars are G1/Universe Rodimus, Beast Wars Cheetor and Beast Machines Snarl. They may be similar to Earth's Knights Templar, a Christian military order of warrior-monks.

Universe

As the battle between Cryotek and the Wreckers reaches its conclusion, Rodimus and Cheetor use their abilities as Matrix Templars to draw much of the power of Primus out of Cryotek's grasp. Wreckers: Finale Part II


Snarl, the "One of Five," is sent by Primus and Alpha Trion to retrieve Optimus Primal from his holding cell. It is not specified whether his Matrix Templar affiliations allowed him to sneak past the sentries undetected and open a portal within Primal's cell, or if those are special abilities specific to Snarl.
