A Pulsar Dish is a type of weapon installation which can be easily assembled from any pieces of scrap technology that can be found lying around. This fact makes it handy if the Autobots are caught with no heavy weapons to hand.

Transformers Prime: Pulsar Defense

When Team Prime discovered that Megatron's forces were constructing an Energon Drain in a debris field, Optimus Prime decided a logical plan to counter this would be to construct a Pulsar Dish on the exact spot where the almost-complete Energon Drain was pointing. Despite a fair amount of interference from the Decepticons, the Autobots managed to complete the Pulsar Dish in time, using technology salvaged from the debris field, and used it to destroy the Energon Drain. Pulsar Defense
