Does it matter to this article that the model of Optimus Prime's gun is not unique? (Or apparently Megatron's, for that matter.) --Monzo 05:17, 3 October 2007 (UTC)

War For Cybertron

Eh, Megatrons model is a soldier, not a leader. Hence, you can't equip the ion blaster by default (Although you can give the Fusion Cannon to Optimus' mold.) However, you could, in theory, pick up an ion blaster from a fallen Leader.

Which toys?

Just so I'm clear, are the only toys that should be used as examples on this page ones where the packaging specifically refers to the weapon as an "ion blaster," and not just "blaster" or some other term, even if the weapon is clearly intended to be the ion blaster? -- Servitor 2152 03:33, 6 July 2010 (EDT)

Yeah, some Optimus Primes that belong to other continuity families feature guns similar to G1 Prime's, and are properly meant as a homage. most notably Armada Optimus.

Color-changing

Okay... Optimus' ion blaster in Transformers and ROTF transforms from his right smokestack and fuel tank, supposedly (I know that's how it is with the toys, but I can't tell for sure in the movies). That's fine enough. But in all shots of his guns they would seem to be black, whereas the stack and tank are quite obviously chrome. Can anyone confirm this is what's going on?
