Operation Combination story pages

Flare Jet accompained the Jet Corps and Battle Gaia in their campaign to plunder Earth of all its energy. They were initially opposed by their foes, the Road Corps. The Decepticons defeated the Road Corps and pressed on into Earth's orbit. The Road Army vs. the Jet Army! New Decepticons Appear!

Arriving in Earth's orbit, they were met by Guard City, who had assembled every Micromaster Combiner in the Autobot ranks. Flare Jet then went toe-to-toe with Sixwing. The Decepticons' Attack on Earth!

The Autobots eventually formed the "Autobot Scrum Combination" and used their power to destroy Battle Gaia. Flare Jet and the Jet Corps quickly gathered up Battle Gaia's remains and fled back into space. Conclusion

Still in Scrash's employ, Flare Jet was part of a Decepticon force sent out to attack Scramble City. He aided in overwritting the defenses of the City and helped in the attack itself. However, the appearance of a rebuilt Metroplex sent the Decepticons in retreat. Metrowars

TO BE THE MAN, YOU GOTTA BEAT THE MAN! WOOOOOOoooo... oh. FLARE Jet. My bad.
  • Mach Road vs. Flare Jet (Versus pack, 1992)
    • Japanese ID number: TF-09
    • Accessories: Missile launcher, 3 missiles
Flare Jet is (almost) identical to the Predator Snare, transforming into a Grumman X-29 fighter jet. He has a spring-loaded hand-held missile launcher, plus retains the Megavisor gimmick, allowing him to be connected to the larger Predator toys (only one of which, Skyquake, was released in Japan, and even that was basically in UK packaging). The only difference between him and his Hasbro doppelganger is one he shares with the rest of the Predator/Jet Corps members; slightly-altered missiles. The most immediately-noticeable difference is the Jet Corps missiles have a solid-circle base, while the Predators have fins that stick out slightly.
He was available only in a two-pack with Mach Road, who also appears in Flare Jet's visor-slide image.

Notes

No, my head naturally superimposes. This is totally normal.
  • Flare Jet uses an altered vesion of Snare's card art, as Snare was depicted with a different head than what was on the actual toy. While Flare Jet has the right head, the editing job isn't exactly the best, as the new head is basically just stamped over the old one without regards as to what parts would go, say, behind his chestplate.
