The One

The One is an extradimensional entity responsible for the creation of Unicron (boo!) and Primus (yay!).
The One witnessed the Big Bang which created our universe.[1] Curious to explore the infant Universe, The One created a herald to go in its place and report back. This was Unicron, but not as we know him. Like The One, this Unicron was a harmonious blending of Chaos and Order. The One subdivided its creation into two heralds, one of Chaos (Unicron) and one of Order (Primus.)[2]
Both entities extended themselves across many planets and throughout many realities, eventually gaining sentience. When Unicron actually ate an entire Universe[1], Primus made himself the champion of all living things and attacked Unicron directly.[2] As life began to spread throughout the cosmos, Primus prepared to take his place in the Omniversal Matrix, but before doign that he had to destroy Unicron. He failed, but in doing so succeeded in trapping both of them within a single universe where they underwent a period of extended dormancy. Some 9 billion years[3] would pass before they clashed again.
Also, The One seems to have some connection with the Vok, as shown in Primeval Dawn Part 3. This could be really good, or extremely bad.
Notes
- The One's method of exploring by creating heralds mirrors that employed by Primus, who created Transformers [4][5]
