Tailpipe (G1)

Tailpipe is a Transformer from the IDW portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

When Nova Prime took the first Ark to conqu- er, explore the galaxy, he chose Tailpipe to be one of his crew.

Before the war, while examining the memorial to the Ark-1, Ratchet placed his hand over Tailpipe's name. Post Hoc Millions of years later, Cyclonus revealed that he knew Tailpipe was supposed to be part of the crew but that Tailgate was not. Cybertronian Homesick Blues

Dark of the Moon

Tailpipe was repurposed from Dark of the Moon Tailpipe. Part of the second wave of Basic-class Dark of the Moon Human Alliance toys, Tailpipe transforms into a generic and slightly oversized motorcycle, which has two c-joint bars on the back of the bike for weapons mounting. In his hoverbike / weapon mode, the wheels swing out to the front and three curved blades fold out from each of them, with the same geared mechanism as that of Animated Prowl's shuriken. He can be held in this mode by any MechTech-compatible figure using a 5mm post on his, er, tailpipe. The tailpipe post can also act as a kickstand in vehicle mode.

While the toy he was repurposed from came with both human and Targetmaster style partner figures, neither of these have featured in IDW fiction.
