On Dinobot Island, the Autobots face off against Soundwave and Lugnut, only to have their battle interrupted by the Dinobots! But are they friend... or foe?
Synopsis
[edit]On a mysterious island out in some far-off sea, the Autobots and the Decepticons are duking it out. Soundwave is crippling Optimus Prime and Bumblebee with his soundblast attack via guitar-mode Laserbeak. Bulkhead, Ratchet and Prowl aren't faring much better against Lugnut, who proceeds to drop a payload of bombs onto them from the sky. As Lugnut declares all who tread the earth beneath him to be his inferiors, Prowl laments that their weapons don't have the range necessary to counterattack.
Suddenly, a mysterious shape swoops down from the sky and strikes Lugnut, causing him to crash near a bewildered Soundwave. The creature, a robotic Pteranodon, continues to attack Lugnut, who has no data on such an animal in his files. Suddenly, a hulking robotic T. rex named Grimlock tells Soundwave that his music is bugging him and proceeds to thrash the Decepticon with his tail. Grimlock, Swoop (the Pteranodon) and Snarl (a Triceratops), then tell the Decepticons to get off their island.
As Lugnut and Soundwave retreat, Prime is relieved to see that these "Dinobots" are on their side. Grimlock disagrees and attacks Prime, telling him to leave their island as well.
Some time passes, and Grimlock apologizes to Prime for mistaking him as a bad guy. Prime accepts the apology, and Grimlock bids the Autobots farewell, swearing to help them in time of battle. Bumblebee remarks how incredibly powerful the Dinobots are, prompting Prime to say he's happy his team can rely on them.

Notes
[edit]- In this version of the story, Dinobot Island is an uncharted island located in a distant sea instead of an island in Lake Erie.
- Precisely where Soundwave came from is unknown. Since The Cool version of the story deviates considerably from the events of the TV series, he may have just been a regular member of the Decepticon army rather than a pile of assorted electronics brought to life.
- The Dinobots sure are a lot nicer in this version of the Animated universe, aren't they?
