I don't think so. The character is pretty obviously Minamoto-no-Yoshitsune as a kid (when he was called Ushiwakamaru). It's akin to us calling Dwayne Johnson "The Rock". It seems needlessly obfuscatory to insist that this be left under the nickname just because he isn't referred to by that in the show.
