Smokescreen is one of many Transformers who would have been caught up in the interdimensional war between the Children of Primus and the Minions of Unicron.

Smokescreen was part of a soon-to-be-released Universe Battle in a Box set with Drench. Though tenatively a Target stores exclusive (according to Hasbro representatives at OTFCC 2004), alas, it was cancelled.

In 2004, several test-shots appeared on ebay in a group, among them a redeco of the Armada Hot Shot toy, using the "Powerlinx Hot Shot" version with the remolded robot head. He would have come with a redeco of the Mini-Con Jolt.
