Longview and Farsight T-20 totally stole my shtick in reverse!

The "Binocular Transformer" wants you to know Transformers use binoculars more often than you'd think.

Fiction

Dreamwave Generation One continuity

The Binocular Transformer cheered when Megatron tore off Emirate Xeon's head and presented it to the crowd gathered in the Forge. The War Within #2

Notes

  • The Binocular Transformer is based on a toy from the Micro Change line that was never brought over into the The Transformers toyline. The toy itself is mainly blue, whereas its fictional Transformers appearance is mainly yellow.
    • Coincidentally, his comic colors are similar to Longview's.
    • Also coincidentally, Longview's redeco, Farsight T-20, has colors resembling the original pre-Transformers toy.
  • Takara filed a US patent claim for the Micro-Change Binocular Robo Scope Man in September '84, at the same time as other Micro-Change figures that were actually reused for Transformers, like Perceptor and Blaster. Whether this means that the Binocular Bot was considered for reuse as well or this was just Takara covering their bases is unknown.
  • Binocular Transformer most likely is a Decepticon in the Dreamwave Generation One continuity, but it can't be said for certain.
