Emperor of Destruction

- Emperor of Destruction is a rank used in all Japanese continuities.
The term "Emperor of Destruction" (破壊大帝 Hakai Taitei) refers to the highest-ranking member of the Decepticon, Predacon or Vehicon military. The Emperor of Destruction is the absolute ruler of the entire race, bowing to no higher authority.
It is comparable to the rank of Supreme Commander of the Autobot forces.

Deathsaurus's on-package bio notes that he "succeeded Overlord as the fifth Decepticon leader," indicating that the Godmaster became overall leader in the interim between Super-God Masterforce and Victory, following the death of his superiors at the end of the former. Whether or not he ever took the actual "Emperor of Destruction" title, however, is unknown.

- The first English use of the title appeared on Magmatron's Beast Machines packaging bio, albeit written as "emperor of destruction" and not as a proper noun.
- Shattered Glass Optimus Prime is referred to as Emperor of Destruction on his tech spec card.
- In the Transformers: Prime episode "Masters & Students", Starscream refers to himself as Emperor of Destruction when he takes command of the Decepticons (this line is changed in the Japanese dub, which only applies the title to Megatron himself). Smokescreen later jokes about using the title while sitting on Megatron's throne in "Predacons Rising".
- On Transformers United packaging, which features character names and titles in both English and Japanese, Hakai Taitei is simply rendered "Tyrant" in English.
