- Laserbeak is a Decepticon Mini-Con from the Aligned continuity family.
Of the Deployers who stand with Soundwave, Laserbeak may say the least, but he quickly distinguishes himself, as his powerful laser attacks can pin down an Autobot attack force... when it isn't cutting them to shreds.

Exodus novel
Megatron despised Soundwave's minions, including Laserbeak. Regardless, Soundwave found Laserbeak more valuable than Rumble and Frenzy, and when Soundwave did some intense thinking, his Minicons inside got restless. Transformers: Exodus

When Soundwave intercepted a message from Agent Fowler, Soundwave released Laserbeak (which was resting on his chest) to bring Fowler to the Nemesis. After chasing Fowler's helicopter, the drone grabbed Fowler with his tentacles and returned to the Decepticon ship. Darkness Rising, Part 3
After Soundwave picked up a possible signal from Megatron, who was previously assumed dead, Starscream went to investigate. Untrusting of Starscream, Soundwave decided to keep an eye on him by sending Laserbeak after him. After finding Megatron, Starscream intended to allow Megatron to perish, but was forced to reconsider when he discovered Soundwave's Minicon watching him. Masters & Students
While proving a point to Airachnid, Soundwave unleashed Laserbeak, who zoomed around the Nemesis bridge and shot her a couple of times before reuniting with his master. One Shall Rise, Part 3
Laserbeak was dispatched to keep the Jackhammer busy while Soundwave went after an Iacon relic. Wheeljack managed to shoot the drone down, and Ratchet hit on the plan of uploading a virus into the disabled Laserbeak to allow the Autobots to gain the Iacon database. He and Raf managed to do so, planting an additional grenade as a decoy. When Soundwave retrieved Laserbeak and returned to the Nemesis, the Decepticons found the grenade but not the virus, which passed into the ship's computer and began downloading the database. Triage
Once the Decepticons obtained information pointing to Jasper, Nevada as the home of the Autobots' human friends, Laserbeak was put to work searching the area. This bore fruit when he located Smokescreen, who happened to be the last of the Iacon relics. He kept Smokescreen busy until Soundwave arrived to capture the Autobot. Hard Knocks
Laserbeak was dispatched to monitor the battle after the Decepticons tracked Jack Darby's location. He was caught in the explosion when Arcee and Jack blew up a gas station to take out the two pursuing Vehicons, and Soundwave was unable to salvage any surveillance data from him. Darkmount, NV
During a battle in Texas, Laserbeak detached from Soundwave and was able to successfully short-out Optimus Prime's shiny new jetpack, causing the Autobot leader to crash in an undignified heap. Project Predacon Laserbeak's second attempt at downing Optimus didn't go so well, with the Autobot leader punching him out of the air. He was unable to locate Soundwave after his master was captured, but Shockwave had him track Fowler to the Autobots' shielded base and reactivate Soundwave with new orders—capture Ratchet. Minus One
During his rescue of Soundwave, Laserbeak's transponder was shot off by Smokescreen, and the Autobots later used it to build an aerial drone. Persuasion When Soundwave was trapped in the Shadowzone, Laserbeak was also trapped by virtue of still being attached to his chest. Deadlock

Transformers: War for Cybertron (Xbox 360/PS3/PC)
When the captive Optimus Prime, Bumblebee and Sideswipe were brought before Soundwave in the Kaon Prison, Laserbeak swooped down and perched on his master's arm. It soon turned out, however, that Prime's team had allowed themselves to be captured so they could rescue Zeta Prime, and as they escaped and made their way through the prison, Laserbeak could be spotted lurking in the shadows, watching their progress, at three different locations. By the time Prime's group made it to Soundwave's laboratory, where Zeta Prime was being held Laserbeak had reunited with his master, and joined Soundwave in battling the Autobots. Laserbeak served as Soundwave's last line of defense in the clash, ejecting from his chest and screeching across the lab at high speeds, blasting laser bursts onto the Autobots below. He was eventually downed, however, and accompanied Soundwave in a hasty retreat, but not before Soundwave fatally wounded Zeta Prime. Transformers: War for Cybertron

Lazerbeak[sic] recorded a communication between Zeta Prime and the Autobots, allowing the Decepticons to pinpoint the Autobot leader's probable location so they could obtain the Omega Key. Transformers: War for Cybertron

Laserbeak was at Soundwave's side during the assault on Autobot City that nearly destroyed the Ark. In a surprising lack of judgement, he flew past a rampaging Optimus Prime, leading the Autobot leader to where Soundwave was disguised as a light fixture. Luckily for both Decepticons, they were in such a place Optimus was unable to get a clear shot and managed to retreat.
Laserbeak was with Soundwave when the Combaticons and Starscream brought Optimus in as their prisoner. He also somehow missed the massive city-sized Autobot who snuck up on the Decepticons and proceeded to beat Megatron to death. He wisely fled with the remaining Decepticons.
Laserbeak was instrumental in reviving Megatron in Soundwave's laboratory in Kaon, recovering the Techvolt used to bring the Decepticon leader back to life. This earned him an affectionate scratch on the head from the notoriously unemotional Communications Officer. When Megatron tried to do the same, the irate Minicon nipped at him, amusing the warlord.
During the assault on the Autobot defenses keeping Trypticon prisoner, Laserbeak was with Soundwave throughout the battle. He was next seen aboard the Nemesis, Trypticon's new form. He joined Soundwave and Rumble in boarding the Ark as it fled towards a Space Bridge, successfully fending off the Autobots and destroying their anti-air cannons. This allowed the Decepticons to send in Bruticus. He wasn't seen after, though presumably he was sucked into the collapsing Space Bridge along with everyone else.

- Part of the first wave of Prime: Robots in Disguise Deluxe Class toys, Soundwave comes with Laserbeak. He pegs into Soundwave's chest via a 5mm-compatible post, which also allows him to perch on top of Soundwave's vehicle mode fuselage or palms.
- The TakaraTomy version, part of the second wave of Japanese Prime product, uses stickers for its details instead of paint.

- Part of the first wave of 2012-onwards Generations Voyager Class toys, Fall of Cybertron Laserbeak is a Legends Class "data disc" that transforms into a robotic bird. He is capable of storing in and launching out of Soundwave's chest compartment, and features a fully automatic, spring-loaded transformation to bird mode that is triggered when a button on his underside is pressed.
- The TakaraTomy version of Laserbeak, part of the fourth wave of Japanese Generations toys, uses a deeper red plastic than the Hasbro version. Both versions use the same circuit-board pattern as mold-mate Buzzsaw, but the Hasbro version mirrors the pattern along the vertical axis.
- In both markets, Laserbeak was only available with his larger partner Soundwave.

Notes
- The home console version of War for Cybertron has a trophy/achievement that is received by shooting the three hidden Laserbeaks in Kaon Prison Break.
- Laserbeak's appearance in War for Cybertron appears to be based off his G1 counterpart's Cybertronian form from "More than Meets the Eye, Part 1".
- Hasbro referred to the Deployer in Prime as Laserbeak at BotCon 2011, though he was not named onscreen until "Triage".
