Takeshi Aono (青野 武 Aono Takeshi, June 19, 1936-April 9, 2012) was a Japanese veteran voice actor who was born in Asahikawa, Hokkaido; he was affiliated with Aoni Production.

In terms of anime and video games, some of his better known roles included Shirō Sanada in Space Battleship Yamato, Kami and King Piccolo in Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z, Rihaku in Fist of the North Star, Katsuhito and Nobuyuki Masaki in the Tenchi Muyo series, Dakuan in Ninja Scroll, Roy Campbell in the Metal Gear franchise, Muramasa in the Ninja Gaiden franchise, and Dr. Wily in several Mega Man games for the Playstation.

In terms of dubbing, Aono played the Joker in Batman: The Animated Series and all other DC Animated Universe shows and movies, Joe Pesci in at least 11 movies (including the Lethal Weapon and Home Alone franchises), Doc Brown (Chritopher Lloyd) in the Back to the Future trilogy, Basil of Bakers Street in The Great Mouse Detective, Uncle Herbet Powell on The Simpsons, Sir Topham Hat on Thomas & Friends, and Freddy Krueger in A Nightmare on Elm Street.

Takeshi Aono passed away at age 75 of an aortic aneurysm.
