Payload is a Decepticon from Revenge of the Fallen franchise in the live-action film continuity family
Well, I'm not the kind to kiss and tell,
But I've been seen with Megan.
I'm never seen with anything less than a nine, so fine.

He might fall from a tall building,
He might roll a brand new car.
'Cause he's the Payload that made Devastator such a star.

Fiction

Revenge of the Fallen film

During the climactic battle in Egypt between the Autobots, their human allies and The Fallen's Decepticons, Payload appeared in a quarry with the other Constructicons, and combined with Jumping Jack to form Devastator's leg. When Devastator was destroyed by the experimental railgun fired from the U.S.S. Kidd, Payload was presumably killed. Revenge of the Fallen

You can't tell from the picture, but he's having a giggle fit right now.

When the Decepticons need something delivered, they can turn to the Constructicon Warrior Payload. His heavily armored and powerful body allows him to simply smash obstacles. Ratchet is the latest Autobot to get in his way, and Payload is amused that Ratchet thinks he can stop him.

He'll easily pop your parts off.
  • Payload (Voyager Class, 2010)
A redeco of the Revenge of the Fallen Voyager-class Long Haul, Payload transforms from a genericized "earth mover" dump truck with a functional truck bed into a bulky robot mode. In robot mode, he has three "Mech Alive" gimmicks: Turning his head also turns a cog in his chest, bending his elbows moves some pistons, and finally, moving his feet also moves the "springs" connected to them inwards. Only the piston gimmick is advertised on the packaging. Meanwhile, each forearm houses a spring-loaded, flip-out axe. Furthermore, Payload has a mild variant, where the purple paint on his head and chest can be very dark and flat or extremely deep and shiny. The latter version seems to be the harder to find, although exact quantities of each are unknown.

Payload and Jumping Jack appear as an orange leg on the body of "Desert Devastation" Devastator, a super-sized Robot Heroes figure. He is only available in a multi-pack with Skids and Mudflap in their vehicle modes and William Lennox.

Notes

  • Though the unknown Constructicon shares a similar alternate mode with another one of Devastator's components, Long Haul, he's a different, longer model of dump truck.
  • Interestingly, the dump truck that transforms into Supreme Devastator's right leg is supposed to represent Long Haul and is thus green. However, the shape and details of the vehicle look much more like the unknown dump truck than Long Haul's alt mode.
  • When asked, Hasbro neither had a name for this poor sod nor recognised his existence as Devastator's leg (saying there were only seven Constructicons in Devastator).
  • Hasbro has stated in the March 2010 Q&A session that 2010 Payload is one of the Constructicon Warriors appearing in the Revenge of the Fallen video games. Guess he moonlights as an armored truck.
