Talk:Plasma energy
From MediaWiki
Should this article really be separate from Plasma Energy Chamber? I would think a single article covering all occurances of Plasma Energy might be called for. --KilMichaelMcC 17:26, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
Agreed. Redirect to a sub-section. The PEC has some historical signifigance aside from plasma energy, as the foundry where the original TF bodies were forged... but it's not so seperate that they should be seperated. -Derik 17:43, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
- *blink* Wow, I totally didn't even think of the Plasma Energy Chamber when I was writing it. Hmn, given that that that was Rebirth and this is HM, d'you think that it's use was just a coincidence, or was the idea derived from the PEC, even though the Japanese never used it in fiction? - Chris McFeely 18:07, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
- I assume so- I want to say there's some general indication in HM that Japan had some plot and character outlines generated by US writers (though I'll be damned if I can think what they are at the moment.) Warped reflection of the US incarnation.
- And if Plasma Energy can blow up the sun, it can surely blow up Mars. -Derik 18:10, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
- Well, the mechanics are a bit different. Rebirth-plasma-energy does that because it attacks and overloads mechanisms which convert matter into energy (making the fact that it is harmless to organic life nonsense), while HM-plasma-energy is just explosive and has to be detonated, as with Mars. Tryin' to figure out what the best way to combine the entries would be... - Chris McFeely 18:13, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
- Describe the American version first, then describe the Japanese version in its own sub-section, just liek we treat the multiple interpretations of, say, Blaster.
- The english version diminates because 1) English 2) More Prominent (being heavily featured in BM as well as Rebirth.) -Derik 19:16, 29 October 2006 (UTC)
