Rook was one of the countless second generation Transformers serving under Jhiaxus on the Twilight.
After contact was made with the first generation Autobots, Rook was thoroughly puzzled by his ancestors' war, not understanding the difference between "Autobot" and "Decepticon"; Jhiaxus merely assured him that, whatever they were called, they were nothing more than evolutionary throwbacks. War Without End!

As the war against their predecessors continued, Rook noticed that the stress was beginning to tell on Jhiaxus. Primal Fear! He continued to observe and worry as his commander's ice-cold demeanor of control and amoral objectivity continued slipping and he began reverting to the mad tyrant he once was. New Dawn He continued to act as Jhiaxus's aide-de-camp during the battle on Earth. Total War!
After being thrown about by Jhiaxus once too often, Rook decided that the situation was spiraling out of control, and he made contact with the Liege Maximo. Dark Shadows! At some point after this, he apparently abandoned his post, as he was next seen reporting in person to the Liege Maximo at the Hub. A Rage in Heaven!
Regeneration One

Rook reported to Jhiaxus that someone had beaten them to Cresta Superior, and there were traces of AllSpark residue in the wreckage that implied their "ancestors" were responsible. Destiny, Part One
When Jhiaxus returned to Cybertron, where he scheduled a meeting with the newly christened Rodimus Prime, Rook and the rest of his team, "Primum Fugae", accompanied their leader to the planet's surface. As Jhiaxus accompanied Rodimus to Nova Point for a private talk, Rook and the rest of his squad took to the skies, arriving at Camp Zero, an Autobot-constructed shanty town for the Primordial Cybertronians. Rook and his troops proceeded to slaughter the beasts, and were engaged by the Autobots, who intended to stop them. The battle ended when Rook recieved a message from Jhiaxus to depart the planet. The War to End All Wars, Part 2 Rook later informed Jhiaxus when the Wreckers attacked the Hub Network, causing planets that had already been assimilated to become disconnected from the Network.
Later, when the energies of the Underbase began absorbing Jhiaxus, he called for Rook to help him. However, Rook fled in terror, leaving his leader to his fate. The War to End All Wars, Part 4
