Help talk:Franchise identifiers
From MediaWiki
"Because of the English-centric focus of this Wiki, material or toys which are common to both Binaltech and Alternators should be considered "Alternators". There are a lot of BT-exclusive characters and fiction, however, which would not be properly labelled as part of Alternators"
"A lot"? The fuck? There's all of ONE character from BT who doesn't previously exist in America, and that's Zoom-Zoom, who wouldn't NEED an identifier. --M Sipher 06:03, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
- Well, there are a lot of characters and ideas that haven't been in other Transformers stories, such as Iron Klaw or whoever, Bodyshop Project, etc, but those, as you say, don't need identifiers. You're right, it's a non-issue. There's no double-uses in the franchise. I think even T-AI and, uh, Junko can be split up from their other-universe counterparts without use of disambig parentheticals. --ItsWalky 06:27, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
- Well, the BTA character is actually Ai Kuruma, and not only does BTA Junko Shiragami have a last name the CR character doesn't, but she was Kelly in RID anyway... --M Sipher 06:36, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
- It is basically a non-issue, I agree, but I don't see what Siph is huffy about in his first post. The BT fiction is filled with stuff that is not part of Alternators, just like the text says. If any of those things ever need an identifier, "Alternators" is not the right one to use. G1 might be, depending on what it is, or BT might be. --Steve-o 07:07, 17 November 2006 (UTC)
