Talk:Blurr (Prime)

I really don't think Blurr the Velocitronian from the novel and Blurr the Cybertronian from Rescue Bots are the same guy. --KilMichaelMcC (talk) 09:09, 28 April 2015 (EDT)
- I'd agree, but despite statements on the Aligned continuity being an "all-as-one", the wiki seems to be treating it the same as the other families - as in, individual series or franchises set in the Aligned universe are treated as their own "sub-continuities", meaning that novel and RB Blurr are being held in the same page despite inconsistent details. Much like, I dunno, G1 cartoon Blurr and G1 Marvel Blurr both being at Blurr (G1). So until they're both seen in the same place at the same time, I'd guess that they're staying. - I am all for not treating the novels and the cartoons and the video games as a singular coherent continuity, and viewing Aligned as continuity family rather than a single timeline. In general, that makes sense. In the specific case of this character, though, it doesn't make sense to treat a nice, humble guy who lived on Velocitron and pilot from Cybertron who's not either of those things as a single character. And as a show character RB Blurr will be about an infinity times more prominent a character than a rando from a novel few people read. --KilMichaelMcC (talk) 10:18, 28 April 2015 (EDT)
I put up the split template to get some discussion going here. Because if we're keeping RB Blurr on this page, the intro need a rewrite to focus on him, and if we're not, then not. --KilMichaelMcC (talk) 13:56, 28 April 2015 (EDT)
- I don't think we should split the article. Even though there's shitloads of inconsistencies between three cartoons, two video games and four or so sloppily-written novels, Hasbro's official line is "these are all in the same continuity". Because of author intent, I vote we keep it the way it is.--Spin-Out (talk) 02:36, 1 May 2015 (EDT)
- But why does "these are all in the same continuity" translate to "these two particular characters with the same name are automatically the same person" ? --KilMichaelMcC (talk) 06:54, 1 May 2015 (EDT)
