Optimus Prime and Bumblebee have busted some bricks to get into KSI in search of their fallen friends, but have found something else... the Decepticon Replicator, where the human scientists have made vicious clones of the two Autobots... Stinger and Nemesis Prime!

    • Set number: A8601
    • Pieces: 77
    • Kreons: Bumblebee, Nemesis Prime, Optimus Prime, "Scientist", Stinger
Part of the Age of Extinction Kre-O series, the "Decepticon Replicator" set contains two cloning stations. The "highlight" station has a clear-plastic half-cylinder display to place Stinger in, with a rotating base to spin him around... in theory. Getting it to spin freely requires you to attach the 4x4 round plate about halfway down the pegs to give it some clearance to spin.
The other station is meant for Nemesis Prime, though there's not really any place for him to interact with it like Stinger, just stand in front of the big holo-display of him. This station also has a rotating defense turret with twin double-barreled pistols.
The set comes with the unique Kreons for Stinger, Nemesis Prime, and a demented-looking micro-Kreon "Scientist". It also comes with Kreons of Optimus Prime and Bumblebee, though they are very, very similar to their "Galvatron Factory Battle" versions. Optimus is identical except for a different expression hidden behind his helmet's faceplate. The Bumblebee Kreon is completely identical except for his add-ons, having a black blaster instead of copper and lacking the Factory Battle version's magnetic backpack.
This set was not made available in US or Canadian markets, seemingly only hitting stores in Taiwan, Singapore, Korea, and China. As Stinger was the highlight of the set, even getting a special window-box placement in the packaging, this continues the trend of Stinger merchandise being bizarrely hard to find in Hasbro's English markets.

Notes

  • This set was originally called the "Stinger Replicator Chamber" in the original Taiwanese catalog it was first revealed in.
  • Nemesis Prime's inclusion in the set is odd, given the Age of Extinction Kre-O sets have shied away from using Kreons of characters who did not actually appear in the movie.
