- Fortress Maximus is a fortified stronghold from the Animated continuity.
The central base of the Cybertron Elite Guard, Fortress Maximus boasts significant amounts of firepower dedicated to the defense of Cybertron. Naturally, this requires a fair amount of energon to be diverted to it if it's to bring its full arsenal to bear.

As acting Magnus, Sentinel Prime ordered that all available strategic energon reserves be directed to Fortress Maximus, to bring its main gun online and target Omega Supreme. Luckily for Omega (and Cybertron), it missed when Omega transwarped away at the last second. This Is Why I Hate Machines
Sari inadvertently stumbled into the Central Cybertronian Recycling Plant after accidentally falling down a shaft in the Metroplex while on a school field trip and stumbling upon the Blurr cube. Her powers unleashed the ancient Decepticon weapon, Kremzeek, who proceeded to utilize the machinery of the Recycling Center against her. Fortunately for her, her classmates Siren, Hosehead, Nightbeat, and her teacher Arcee come to her rescue at the last moment.
Kremzeek attempted to turn Fort Max's main guns on Iacon, much to the consternation of Jetfire and Jetstorm. Sentinel seemed more concerned with how Sari and Arcee had managed to get into the base. Fortunately for all involved (except Kremzeek), Sari's quick thinking captured the imp before it could cause any real harm.The Return of Blurr
