I've got 'em all, except the second-on-the-right. -Derik 06:47, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

It looks like... Lander? In robot mode, I mean. - Chris McFeely 23:03, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

Original toy pics, anyone?

Alternity

[edit]

Alternity Dai Atlas is a redeco and retool of Alterity Prime: http://cdn.tfw2005.com/transformers-news/attach/4/0/5/9/7/TFTBTAE002_1313524436.jpg --Primo 17:19, 16 August 2011 (EDT)

Intro

[edit]

We have a loooooot of pages that didn't need continuity-non-specific intros when they were written, and do now. THis is one. So are Metalhawk, Overlord and Wreckers, off the top of my head. We should probably be trying to update them. Maybe I will later. -LV 20:36, 1 June 2012 (EDT)

"Daiatlas" and distinct katakana spelling

[edit]

The Japanese translations of IDW's comics refer to Dai Atlas as ダイ・アトラス, distinct from the ダイアトラス spelling traditionally used, implying that the translators view the "Dai Atlas" spelling as something distinct from the Japanese name. Given this fact, coupled with the use of "Daiatlas" on the Legends toy and the Viz manga translations, would there be merit in using that spelling for Japanese fiction coverage as a way of reflecting the two different Japanese spellings? (I'm not arguing for "Diatlas" as, while undoubtedly a factor in the name, it's never been officially used as a romanization and hasn't been confirmed as the designer's preference, unlike Deathsaurus/Gilthor/Violengiguar.) --Riptide (talk) 22:18, 15 September 2021 (EDT)

I think the spelling is valid after those two very recent instances and can be used in the japanese fiction coverage, at the very least the manga and Legends. MrRald (talk) 22:32, 15 September 2021 (EDT)
Based on the conversation on Discord, I'm all for using "Daiatlas" when referring in anything JG1-related and keeping the English-original stuff at "Dai Atlas". Fanofcoolstuff27 (talk) 22:38, 15 September 2021 (EDT)

I thought we preferred to refrain from this sort of thing, using different names in different sections based on country of origin. This sounds to me like if one were propose using "Stepper" in Ricochet (Headmasters)'s Japanese fiction sections, or using all Car Robots names for the Japanese fiction sections of every RiD'01 character (which is actually something we did used to do before it was decided "If it has an official English name, USE IT!", barring a few necessary exceptions like Brave Maximus). --Sabrblade (talk) 00:05, 16 September 2021 (EDT)
Personally, I see this being no different to say Flywheels. We use "Flywheels" under the respective sections and use "Skytread" under the sections where he is referred to using that name. I know that is mostly down to trademarks and such, but I'd personally prefer using that sort of approach instead of treating every single appearance of the character with the original name, because otherwise it feels disingenuous. I'd also personally prefer to use the Japanese names for the Car Robots characters in the Japanese fiction sections as they were technically completely different characters, not the same ones that appeared in RID01. I wouldn't push for a split for the Car Robots pages from RID01, because then we'd just be covering the same thing twice just using different names, but I do feel that labelling "Black Convoy" as such during his future exploits in place of "Scourge" is more accurate. Scourge's story ended at the show's finale, Black Convoy's story continued on into Unite Warriors and Legends. Fanofcoolstuff27 (talk) 01:41, 16 September 2021 (EDT)
