Artillery Units are a type of Decepticlone from the Armada portion of the Unicron Trilogy continuity family.
They have the range. Your fave could never!

Artillery Units are the long-range munitions experts of the Decepticlone army. Capable of launching long-range mortar shells, these foes can attack Autobots from a distance without putting themselves in much danger. Their artillery strikes can also cause whatever Autobot is targeted to ragdoll around, to the humor of many. Despite their supporting role, they are a rare sight to see during the Decepticon attack on Earth.

Games

Transformers (PS2)

[edit]

Artillery Units employ a basic yet effective tactic of firing their mortar shells at the Autobots. Despite the shells being easy to avoid, they may prove troublesome in certain situations such as engaging in groups of Decepticlones or climbing the temple. If an Autobot gets too close, the Artillery Unit can put up a shield which is impervious to all forms of damage. However, with this shield up, the Artillery Unit will be incapable of attacking.

Artillery Units exclusively appear in the Deep Amazon level, near the ruined temple. Once the level has been completed, no more Artillery Units will spawn in the level and thus, cannot be fought without starting a new game. Transformers

Notes

[edit]
  • Despite Artillery Units being present in the Pacific Island intro cinematic, they do not appear in that level. They're also completely off-model in that particular cutscene.
  • Cut content indicates that Antarctica originally had some Artillery Units stationed in the level.
