This character has no official visual representation in any Transformers product or media... yet, at least.
Azimuth is obsessed with the study of the stars and has dedicated her life to understanding them and the elegant mathematical routes they trace through the sky. She is one of the founders of the Patterner movement that shaped the face and society of Cybertron in the aftermath of the Great Cataclysm. She believes in a logical, impersonal, rational, and non-spiritual cosmology and considers the cult leader and agent of chaos known as Galvatron to be her greatest enemy and living antithesis.
Fiction
[edit]The Covenant of Primus
[edit]In the dark times of the Cataclysm, Azimuth and a small group of friends sat in the darkness of their hiding places and formulated a new philosophy and world view. The stars followed rational, predictable patterns that could be understood and read to prevent future cataclysms. Upon emerging they formed the core of the Patterner movement which shaped the face of Cybertron by inscribing on it the geometrical patterns that they read in the sky. The movement grew to be vastly important, eventually evolving into specified and varied splinter movements and spawning anti-order backlash cults. The Covenant of Primus
Ask Vector Prime
[edit]Azimuth had a falling out with her most talented student, Ephemeris, with whom she shared a body-type. He joined Galvatron's cult, an act which caused her tremendous pain. Ask Vector Prime, 11 September 2015
Notes
[edit]
- "[[wikipedia:{{#if:|:}}Azimuth|{{#if:||Azimuth}}]]" is a mathematical term used in a spherical coordinate system.
- Azimuth was retroactively given a body based on the 1983 gold MC-6 Watch Robo (ウォッチロボ) toy from the Micro Change line in the Facebook edition of Ask Vector Prime. Ask Vector Prime's decision to make Azimuth one of the Micro Change watches was probably a reference to the Ben 10 character Azmuth (no "i"), the inventor of the watch-like Omnitrix worn by the title hero, the show being a known favorite of series author Jim Sorenson. This decision would go on to influence the 2019 IDW comic continuity's depiction of her, although see her counterpart's page for more on that.
