Bacteria bomb

The bacteria bomb is an artificial chemical slime that drains energy on contact. Victims of the slime find themselves weakened overall and specifically unable to transform.

Starscream and BB came up with a new plan to defeat the Maximals. After staging a fake Angolmois Energy factory to lure them in, Starscream had BB launch their bacteria bomb at Tasmania Kid and Diver, leaving them weakened and unable to transform. The bomb was equally effective against the Jointron brothers. Although only DJ and Motorarm were infected, they were unable to achieve the power necessary to become Tripledacus, and Gimlet's selfish efforts to avoid being infected by his brothers only further hampered their battle prowess.

Unfortunately for the Predacons, Lio Convoy rallied his troops in a protective giant armor called Jointron II. The Maximals showed the Jointrons how they could share power with each other through teamwork, overcoming the infection together. The Jointrons purged themselves of the bacteria bomb, and then turned the power of Tripledacus against the Combatrons. A Fearsome Combination Plan?
