Bombshock is a Decepticon Micromaster from the Generation 1 continuity family.
I once blew off my own toes in battle, kid. Don't think I won't do the same to you.

Bombshock is old because he's hard. And he's hard because he's fought his way through the biggest, baddest battles of the Cybertronian Civil Wars. Millions of years of unrelenting combat have burned away all traces of mercy, compassion, and idealism, leaving nothing behind but his cold, ruthless core. He leads the Military Patrol well, and he doesn't seem to mind that all three of his teammates are plotting against him. They want a fight, and fighting's all he's good at. And when he gets into the heat of battle, even the destruction of his enemies won't stop him. Sometimes, he won't stop fighting until his bombs have blown most of himself apart.

A highly decorated Decepticon warrior, Bombshock was rebuilt as a Micromaster and took up residence in Little Iacon. He helped train an inter-faction group of young Micromasters, and convinced Barricade to join the Decepticons. Victims of the Revolution Some time later, while arm-wrestling Dropshot and Groundpounder simultaneously (with one arm - and winning!) in a bar, Bombshock witnessed an altercation between the Hot Rod and Race Track Patrols. He then watched a race between Big Daddy and Roadhandler. The Gray Race He accompanied a group of Insecticons back to Decepticon headquarters, where he joined Skystalker's Micromaster insurrection. Recipe For Hate He helped defend their newly-taken base against a Countdown-led Autobot force, and refused Countdown's offer of an alliance against their larger counterparts. Beast Wars: Uprising

[edit]

Sidetrack and Bombshock were part of the Temple Guard at the High Pavilion of Iacon. They defended the Pavilion during the siege of the Resistance at the end of the Grand Uprising. The duo used deadly zirconium gas pumped through the vents to guide the Resistance invaders into a trap. Those fleeing the gas ran straight into the two tanks' cannon fire. They were killed in the last act of Psycho-Orb, Resistance general, who psychically directed a pulse grenade underneath the duo before detonating it. Derailment

Toys

The Transformers

[edit]

It's a 120mm gun, and I'm not happy to see you.
  • Military Patrol (Micromaster Patrol, 1990)
Released in the seventh and final year of the original Transformers toyline in the US, Micromaster Bombshock is a tiny robot that transforms into a tiny green Leopard 2 main battle tank. His tank turret rotates and features an elevating barrel.
He was available only in a four-pack with his teammates Dropshot, Growl, and Tracer.

  • Military Team (Micro Transformer team, 1991)
    • ID number: C-363
    • Accessories: Micro Trailer #3
Bombshock was also released in Takara's Fight! Super Robot Lifeform Transformers line, during the Return of Convoy year. While the toy had no notable physical changes from the Hasbro release, like all Return of Convoy Micromasters, he was marketed as an Autobot instead of a Decepticon.
Like the Hasbro toy, he was only available in a complete set with his teammates, but this release included Micro Trailer #3.

War for Cybertron: Earthrise

[edit]
  • Bombshock & Decepticon Growl (Micromaster, 2020)
    • Hasbro ID number: WFC-E4
    • TakaraTomy ID number: ER EX-04
    • TakaraTomy release date: June 27, 2020
Part of the first wave of Earthrise Micromaster two-packs, Bombshock transforms from a robot into a tank that more or less resembles his original alt-mode. He reuses Top Shot's vehicle mode cannon and Flak's thighs.
He comes with his partner Growl as the "Military Patrol". The two of them can be combined together to create an unnamed cannon weapon that can be wielded by larger figures.

Notes

[edit]
  • Bombshock had a new head tooling created for Siege, but it was only used for Cratermaker and not Bombshock himself. Bizarrely, it is an entirely different sculpt from the head created for Earthrise Bombshock.

Foreign names

[edit]
  • Japanese: Bombshock (ボンブショック Bonbushokku, ボムショック Bomushokku)
  • Italian: Cingolo
