Category talk:Character stubs

Arrrrgh, why does this category capitalize "stub"? THIS IS AGAINST MY DELICATE SENSIBILITIES. --ItsWalky 20:54, 20 December 2007 (UTC)

...then you could have moved the category page and corrected the template, rather than flat-out deleting the page.--RosicrucianTalk 00:40, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
As per your notes below, I totally did, and it blew.--ItsWalky 00:56, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
The whole stub sorting thing blew. Nice now that they're sorted, but I wouldn't want to go through it again.--RosicrucianTalk 01:02, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
Okay, now I have not a damned clue why even though the template is fixed, they're all still under the old cat. --RosicrucianTalk 00:46, 22 December 2007 (UTC)
Anytime a category change is made to an inclusion -- like a template -- none of the articles which include it actually move until the next time they are edited. This is because the category information is cached whenever a page is saved, but the system doesn't do a site-wide search and update every category assignement every time somebody edits a template. The easiest way to "fix" categories after changing the category name that appears in a template is to ask me to have the DiagnosticDrone bot "touch" all the affected pages. However, if you're bored, you can touch them yourself. Just click edit, then immediately save the page. You don't have to make any changes at all, and the null-edit you make won't even appear in the page history, but it will fix the category. --Steve-o 04:55, 23 December 2007 (UTC)

Okay, it looks like instead of manually typing out the stub category name, you can put this thing { { DEFAULTSORT:Fogel, Rich } } above the category list instead. Sadly, I don't think we can rig up the Diagnostic Drone to do this... - RolonBolon 23:13, 19 January 2008 (UTC)
