Category talk:Dimension hoppers
I think this is an important category to have, but much of it will have to be decided on a case-by-case basis if we expand it to "anyone who travelled to any other dimension/universe other than their own." For example, we've got a whole franchise based on characters who we assume may or may not have dimension travelled, unless you figure that since Unicron himself houses his own dimension, they never went into anyone else's timeline? Okay, the terminology itself is just confusing.
But then there's, you know, nearly the entire cast of Cybertron that visited Gigantion, which is in another dimension.
Like I said. Only between continuity families for now. So, like, Axer, the World's Collide folks, but not Galvatron II. --ItsWalky 20:42, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
- As an aside, currently the Worlds Collide versions of Galvatron, Bludgeon, Scourge, Thunderwing, and Dirge are integrated into their normal G1 pages, which is something I'm unsure about, regarding this category. I'm waiting to flag those for this category until I figger out if I think that's our final solution. --ItsWalky 21:06, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
- awkwardly, they are a verion of the G1 characters, but flagging the entire G1 profile as a dimension-hopper is... awkward. -Derik 21:13, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
- Exactly. --ItsWalky 21:16, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
- On the other hand, allow me to digress. Are the WC cameos any less divergent from their G1 entities than any given comic-versus-cartoon entities? They're still clearly the G1 guys. The only problem that comes up is Galvatron versus Galvatron II, which is a "character" already split in such a manner. 'Course, no one else has a separate toy (and a divergent official name), so I suppose that answers itself. --ItsWalky 21:27, 16 October 2006 (UTC)

This category is not to be confused with "Dimension Hoopers," who are characters that travel to other dimensions primarily to get drunk, look at strippers, and call people fags. -hx 02:40, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
- You and Metals Rattrap. -Derik 03:09, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
- Metals Rattrap is pretty fucking awesome. He's like Pikachu_X. -hx 04:14, 17 October 2006 (UTC)
The Fallen
[edit]The Fallen belongs on this page, but should he go under T as "The Fallen" or under F as "Fallen, The"?--86.87.28.191 08:58, 28 August 2009 (EDT)
Invasion
[edit]So it looks like all of SG Ultra Magnus's group get to go under this category... and then anyone identified as being on Classicsverse Earth once it passes through the rift. This would also mean Earth gets to go in this category, amusingly enough. --ItsWalky 17:25, 7 June 2012 (EDT)
A few Universe War characters
[edit]What do we do about the few characters in the Universe comic who traveled to places besides the Cauldron and/or are not Primax characters?
1. 2003 Universe Ratchet is identified by authorial intent as being a Viron character. 2003 Universe Fireflight (who is listed on the page at this time) and 2003 Universe Repugnus have no origin identifier whatsoever (side note: Repugnus also apparently ended up on TransTech Cybertron).
2. Though the Universe storyline was severely truncated, it seems logical to me that non-Primax Children of Primus such as King Atlas or Armada Gunbarrel must have been to Children headquarters on 3H Beast Wars Cybertron at some point.
3. The 2004 OTFCC live-action script reading features several would-be abductees, Children, and Minions of Unicron traveling on a nondescript icy planetoid. Is this planetoid located in the 3H Beast Wars reality? Because many of the characters in the script reading are non-Primax. S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent 47 (talk) 17:57, 26 April 2015 (EDT)
- Unless we specifically see (or read) them traveling to a location outside their continuity family within a story itself, they shouldn't be added to the category. If continuity family of origin of a character is unknown, they don't go in the category. And if the new location of a character is unknown, they don't go in the category. Placing a person in a category shouldn't itself create new information. --ItsWalky (talk) 19:01, 26 April 2015 (EDT)
- Alright, so how about 2003 Universe Ratchet? "Homecoming" shows him on Children headquarters Cybertron after escaping the Cauldron. Does this wiki accept him being a Viron character? I've seen, for example, Energon Dreadwing listed in Cybertron events because the authors of "Force of Habit" identified him as one of the unnamed characters in the story. S.H.I.E.L.D.
