The Celestials are a faction within the Human Confederacy. Exactly what they stand for is unclear but they don't seem too keen on tradition.

Fiction

Beast Wars: Uprising

The Celestials, along with their opposites, the Traditionalists, rose to prominence in the mid to late 24th century. The divide between the two factions continued to grow and by the 25th century, was large enough that it began sucking resources away from the Terran fleet. The schism eventually descended into a series of wars, later labelled as the Fall of Man, that resulted in the end of Terran Ascendency and heralded a new dark age for the species.
