Ask Vector Prime

[edit]

When asked why Transformers based on the Creature from the Black Lagoon and other classic monsters exist, Vector Prime replied that they were seen as fearsome and potent alternate forms. Evidently, robot-Gill-man is actually the alternate form of an unknown Cybertronian, not the real Gill-man. Ask Vector Prime, 2015/06/10

2005 IDW continuity

[edit]

The "Creature" was one of many Autobots at Grindcore prison. He was executed with many other Autobot prisoners in a smelting chamber falsely claimed by the commandant to be a teleporting platform. Speak, Memory! (Part 2)

Toys

Generation 1

[edit]

A transforming Creature from the Black Lagoon toy was proposed in the 1980s to be part of a "Vintage Horror Movie Series". The series never made it past production art, unfortunately, though said art could be found in the Deluxe edition of Transformers Generations.
