[edit]Sometime after the publication of Winged Sentinel, D.E. O'Neil died and was laid to rest in Witwicky Cemetery. Nightshade was given a copy of Winged Sentinel by Alex Malto, and enthralled by its tale of a protector from beyond the stars, resolved to track down the author. Hashtag provided them with a location, but once Nightshade reached the cemetery, they quickly realized that they were much too late for a conversation. Nightshade later scanned the statue of the sentry owl on O'Neil's grave and took it as their alternate mode. Missed Connection
