There he is, my little guy. Isn't he cute?

Dave Edwards, better known by the screenname Zobovor, is a longtime American member of the Transformers fandom, primarily active on alt.toys.transformers. He worked with Rhino Entertainment on their release of the original The Transformers cartoon on DVD in 2002 and is given "special thanks" in the credits.

Edwards was the first fan known to document Gold Plastic Syndrome,<ref>Alt.toys.transformers post by Edwards in 2001 describing the Electro toy's spontaneous destruction</ref> though the specific term appears to have been coined by another fan, "Sky Shadow".<ref>Alt.toys.transformers post by "Sky Shadow" in 2002 asking which toys suffer from "Gold Plastic Syndrome"</ref> Edwards' site, started in 1998, includes the first online cataloging of errors and other oddities in the Generation 1 cartoon.<ref>Edwards's personal site, "ZMFTS!"</ref> He regards the occasional coloring errors in that show as representing new characters and has kitbashed many of them as toys.

As a joke, Edwards created fake "scans" of a catalog showing early Beast Wars toys with Generation 1 character names.<ref>Update dated 29 August 2011</ref> These were somehow picked up by Shout! Factory and erroneously used in the extras of their Beast Wars DVD set.<ref>Photo of the paused DVD</ref> Some fans were fooled, and speculation ensued as to whether these were actual pre-production names or merely placeholders,<ref>Allspark.com thread speculating about the names</ref> before Edwards saw the images on the DVD himself and explained their origin.<ref>Alt.toys.transformers post by Edwards explaining the names</ref>
