The Herald of Unicron unit consisting of Galvatron, Scourge, Thunderwing, Bludgeon, and Dirge entered the Aurex 402.02 Gamma universal stream within the interior perimeter of Decepticon Command Headquarters, Worlds Collide, Part 1 of 4 with the intent to lay claim on its master space bridge nexus. They made swift work of the Decepticons inside, after which they activated all of the portals to kick off their plan to bring Unicron into the universal stream. Obviously, the distortions in dimensional space caused by the en masse activity of Decepticon-owned portals did not go unnoticed by the Autobots. The Heralds knew this, but other details of their plan required them to travel to Earth. In order to not leave the nexus unguarded, Bludgeon was chosen to stay behind. Worlds Collide, Part 2 of 4 The Pretender didn't have to wait long before he could make himself useful, as Jetfire led a team of six Autobots to investigate what was going on at Decepticon Command Headquarters. Bludgeon proved a match for the Autobots, but lost the fight when he was blinded by their headlights and hit by the full firepower of Jetfire. However, it was only his Pretender shell that got damaged, and the robot within could retreat to attack again when ready. Worlds Collide, Part 3 of 4 The Autobots reached the nexus's control room with that knowledge; two of the team were put to guard the door/hole-in-the-wall while the rest tried to shut down the space bridges, which were punching holes to other universal streams already.
As the destruct sequence was being coded into the nexus's control system, Bludgeon returned from within Decepticon Command Headquarters while his fellow Heralds had noticed the nexus had been breached and returned to the complex by space bridge. Jetfire ordered his team to flee; He would initiate the destruct sequence manually. Mere moments before all, Decepticon Command Headquarters, master space bridge nexus and Heralds of Unicron, were blown up, Jetfire spotted Optimus Prime, who had gone missing shortly ago, in one of the portals and jumped through, escaping the explosion.
