The Decepticon rescue squadron is a group from the Big Looker Storybook portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Whenever a Decepticon plan goes horribly wrong, the Decepticon rescue squadron wait ready to spring into action and salvage whatever remains of the survivors. Their signal to spring into action is a special alarm frequency, broadcast automatically by Megatron's internal systems when the Decepticon leader suffers a critical amount of damage.

During a mission to attempt to steal a truck-full of oil, Megatron and a group of Decepticons were pulverized into metal rubble by Swoop. Megatron's alarm signal summoned the rescue squadron, who picked up the remains of their leader along with Ravage, Bombshell, Blitzwing and Long Haul, and took them back to base. Decepticon Hijack

Presumably they were very good at their job, because Megatron was later reconstituted from metal rubble so he could go on further missions.
