Ask Vector Prime

[edit]

With the success of the Autobots' S.T.A.R.S. program, the Decepticons of Primax 185.0 Beta responded with their own Decepto-Packs, enslaving humans to augment their capabilities and help them conquer the planet. Galvatron eventually provoked a nuclear strike that provided him the energon necessary to have his slaves build Zod drones, which he unleashed across the universe, conquering many systems. • Decepto-Pack (Dress Up Set, 1985)
The Decepto-Pack was a plastic dress up set for children released by HG Toys in 1985. The set comprises an adjustable helmet, a shield, wrist cuffs, belt, and a battery-operated laser pistol. All of the component parts can combine into a wearable backpack-like form, making it the first official Transformers costume to transform in some way.
The Decepto-Pack was sold featuring either a cheerful blond boy in a yellow shirt, or a sullen brown-haired boy in an orange shirt. The box art differed completely between variants. Presumably, the brown-haired version came later, since it matches the live model.
