Dinobot Crown of Leadership

The Dinobot Crown of Leadership is a crown made out of a fluoro-steel alloy sometimes worn by Grimlock, apparently to signify his leadership of the Dinobots, or even the Autobots as a whole. It is gold and quite spiky and has a tendency to list to the left on Grimlock's head if the other Dinobots (we're looking at you, Snarl) aren't properly vigilant.

Grimlock had what appeared to be the Dinobot Crown of Leadership made for him just after he succeeded Optimus Prime as Leader of the Autobots on Earth. Mechanical Difficulties! He tended to wear it fairly religiously during his pompous, tyrannical reign. It was last seen just before his duel with Blaster on the moon that signaled the end of Grimlock's time as leader. Totaled!

King Grimlock (2009)

Japanese ID number: MP-8X

Masterpiece MP-8X King Grimlock is a redeco of MP-8 Grimlock with a color scheme based on his appearance in the Marvel comic. He came with the crown worn in the comic.

King Grimlock was only available via Toy Hobby Market, the official shopping site of TakaraTomy. Pre-orders were open through July 31 to September 11, 2009, with the toy shipping out in December.

Masterpiece Grimlock (2010)

Masterpiece Grimlock is a redeco of Masterpiece MP-8 Grimlock. He came with the crown included in the MP-8X release, now fomally named the "Dinobot Crown of Leadership". Masterpiece Grimlock was a Toys"R"Us exclusive.

Generations Comic Edition Grimlock is a redeco of the Studio Series figure, now colored to depict his appearance in the Marvel comics. Among the accessories included is the crown worn by Grimlock in the Marvel comic. The figure comes in a display box featuring the cover of "Repeat Performance!"

Grimlock (ULTIMATES!, 2023)

Part of the second wave of Transformers ULTIMATES! from Super7, Grimlock is a 9-inch-tall non-transforming representation of his dinosaur mode. He includes many characteristic accessories, including the crown.

The Dinobot Crown of Leadership was first given its name on the package of the Hasbro release of Masterpiece Grimlock.
