Electron cannons are powerful ranged weapons. The Omnibot Overdrive carries one, as do some of the Dinobots.

- Overdrive (Omnibot, 1985)
- Accessories: neutron blaster, plasma beam rifle, twin electron cannon
- According to his instructions, The Transformers Overdrive came with a chromed silver twin electron cannon that he could wield in robot mode.
- Accessories: energo sword, electron cannon, rocket pod launcher, 3 rockets
- Sludge came with a black gun, labelled in his instructions as an electron cannon.
- Sludge was reissued as part of the European/Australian Classics line and in Japan, he was offered as a mail-away item during Operation Combination.
- Snarl (Dinobot, 1985/1986/1992)
- Accessories: energo sword, electron cannon, rocket pod launcher, 3 rockets
- Snarl came with a black electron cannon, according to his instructions.
- Snarl was also reissued as part of the Classics line and offered as a mail-away item during Operation Combination. Additionally, he was redecoed to form part of Generation 2, though his electron cannon was downgraded to an electron gun.

[edit]- Neither Sludge nor Snarl's packaging bios or The Transformers Universe profiles mention their weapons, while Overdrive didn't even get a bio or profile until Dreamwave's More than Meets the Eye series; therein, he was armed with a double-barreled electroshock blaster and an armor-piercing rocket launcher, while Sludge and Snarl carried laser rifles instead.
