Laser rifle

The laser rifle is a standard weapon among Transformers. Bots who wield laser rifles include Generation 1 Optimus Prime, Roadbuster, and Slag, and Cybertron Hardtop<ref name="toy">Toy bio.</ref> and Swindle.<ref name="toy" />
Hardtop enjoys using his high-precision laser rifle, but his twin brother Swindle would rather club Autobots with his than actually shoot it.

Notes
[edit]- Although labelled as a laser blaster in his original toy's instructions, Optimus Prime's weapon was called a laser rifle in his Marvel Uinverse profile and his appearances in the Marvel comic itself. His Dreamwave More than Meets the Eye profile then upgraded this to a laser cannon rifle. However, since the release of Masterpiece toyline's 20th Anniversary Optimus Prime this weapon has been renamed as an ion blaster.
- Roadbuster's unpublished Marvel Universe profile<ref>Roadbuster's unpublished Universe profile on Disciples of Boltax</ref> shows he would have had a laser rifle in that continuity.
- Thrust received a The Transformers: The Movie branded character model which designated his robot mode's weapons as electronic laser rifles.<ref>Transformers: 1986 character binder at the Sunbow/Marvel Archive</ref>
