Elliot Marsh

Elliot Marsh is a human from the IDW portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

Doctor Elliot Marsh is an archaeologist. Though knowledgeable about ancient Egypt and its history, his desire for fame and glory—and his paranoia about others taking credit for his discoveries—would ultimately prove his undoing after running up against Garrison Kreiger's own thirst for power.

While searching for the Talisman in Egypt, Garrison Kreiger recruited the help of Elliot Marsh. Together, the two men eventually discovered the Tomb of Amtoltec as the potential resting place for the artifact. Fascinated by the strange hieroglyphs on the walls, Marsh suggested that the builders had not been Egyptian in nature. As they investigated the tomb's entrance, Marsh warned Kreiger not to take credit for his discovery; Krieger, his quest nearing its end, simply pulled out a gun and fatally shot his erstwhile partner.

Three days later, Joe Colton's Adventure Team would discover Marsh's abandoned tape recorder, which he had used to translate some of the glyphs in the tomb, while exploring the ruins. The Secret of the Mummy's Tomb

• Doctor Marsh is a character lifted from the 1980s G.I. Joe episode "The Gods Below". The episode is alluded to further by the story when "the gods below" are mentioned in Marsh's translation one of the Amtoltec inscriptions.
