[edit]Ernie and Jim were standing at the ready at work when they spotted Charlie Fong across the nearby highway, pushing along a beat-up Volkswagen towards them. Rushing to the boy's aid with some water, Ernie advised him to stick to the highway instead of going through the desert on his next outing. But as Ernie handed him the cup, Charlie seemingly went crazy, insisting to use the station's hose to clean his car. The gas attendants restrained him, believing he was delirious from heatstroke. Ernie chimed in that Charlie's car needed to be junked instead of cleaned as they tried to calm the boy. As Charlie tried to explain to the two men that they didn't understand the situation, the Throttlebots Rollbar and Wideload rolled in on the scene, equipped with canisters of acid and intent on destroying the Volkswagen; the car was really their fellow Autobot Goldbug, who had become infected with deadly Scraplets.
Ernie and Jim ran for cover as the two new arrivals tore the place apart trying to get to Goldbug, but Charlie leaped into action. Revealing the reason behind his earlier outburst, Charlie used some water to destroy some Scraplets, convincing the two Throttlebots to stand down while he thoroughly expunged the infection from Goldbug. Now cured, Goldbug turned to Ernie and Jim, asking to borrow their phone. All of the robots drove off shortly after, leaving the dumbfounded gas attendants behind. The Cure!
