Water

Cybertron gave up water eons of your Earth years ago.

Water is a chemical substance made up of hydrogen and oxygen. As it makes up close to 70% of their bodies and its consumption at least once every three days is necessary for their survival, it can be considered the human equivalent of energon. Water can be an irritant substance to Transformers, as it may cause their bodies to rust.

The legendary, mythical chemical that could cure Scraplets turned out to be water, which was abundant on Earth. Water was apparently so rare on Cybertron that Wide Load and Rollbar had never even heard of it. The Cure!

When asked how the Seacons could come from a planet with no water, Grimlock clarified that the seas on Cybertron are not water-based – like the Rust Sea, for example, which is a sea of, uh, rust – and that the Seacons were created for off-world combat, on planets where large bodies of water were a concern.<ref>Grim Grams, issue 162</ref>

Dreadwind backed up the assertion that there was no water on Cybertron, and that Getaway was a wuss for thinking he'd rust, Dreadwing Down!<ref>Dread Tidings, issue 259</ref> since Transformers don't rust all that quickly.<ref>Dread Tidings, issue 292</ref>

There are chambers deep inside Cybertron which also run with what appears to be water, The Primal Scream Out of Time! though they are in fact pressurised tunnels of liquid helium. There is definitely no water on Cybertron, according to Blaster, and Seawatch was speaking metaphorically when he said he'd take Bludgeon waterskiing.<ref>Darn 'n' Blast, issue 303</ref>

Also according to Blaster, there was totally a plentiful supply of water (and an oxygen-rich atmosphere) on Cybertron, like in those sewers where Death's Head chased Rodimus Prime down. Headhunt It was good enough for the Neo-Knights to drink!<ref>Darn 'n' Blast, issue 329</ref>

The Transformers who are unfamiliar with water are likely confused or just not very worldly, as several humans later managed to exist without environmental protection gear on Cybertron without drying up like old corn. Not all Transformers are unfamiliar with water; in the very first issue of the Marvel comic, Ironhide mentioned his "water gun," and Bumblebee was excited to learn that so much of Earth was covered with water, since he loved a good swim. Before the Scraplets crisis, Ratbat devised a fuel-harvesting scheme involving an Earthly carwash, which of course used water.

Some Transformers, namely the Aquaspeeders, Stormtroopers, and Color Changers, used high-pressure water-cannons as armaments. This is after they apparently re-discovered water, or something.

After scanning a fire engine as his new alternate mode, Optimus Prime began carrying a supply of water which he could spray from his cannons to extinguish fires and on one occasion a Decepticon warp gate. The Earth-born Terrans did not run on energon, instead subsisting off the water that had birthed them. Friends and Family

A year after the Terrans were born, the Malto family had taken to storing a supply of cave water in their barn, occasionally using it as ingredients in celebratory food. When Jawbreaker thought he had gotten through to Aftermath, he brought the Chaos Terran to the cave, encouraging his fellow to take what he needed. Stealing a tanker, Aftermath took the totality of the cave's supply of water with him back to the Decepticon base. Togetherness

During the war between the Agorrians and Zertonians, the Zertonians began to ration water. When the Agorrians detected a comet composed of four thousand tons of ice, they eagerly set out to add it to their own water reserves. Void Rivals #2

When the Autobots emerged from stasis lock on Earth, they erected an energon-converting turbine at a dam, harvesting the power of the water flow. Transformers #5
